We know it’s easy to feel stuck. Life isn’t always plain sailing. Grow is here to help people aged 16 -24 to take positive steps forward towards securing a job or getting into training.
When thinking about getting a job, writing CVs and applying for jobs can be hard. Sometimes it’s tricky knowing where to start. Our Grow Programme can support you through that process. We can also support you in developing tools and skills that are going to help you succeed – whether in work, at college or on an apprenticeship.
All of our programmes are based in nature. We do this because we believe it’s not only good for the soul but it's also a good way to develop transferable skills.
The Grow programme
We use a therapeutic coaching approach that focuses on the soft skills that are a key ingredient to thriving in life and at work, such as working well with others, handling conflict and managing personal motivation.
Many of the young people we work with have experienced a lack of self-confidence and have little or no experience of work.
The programme has been developed to build confidence in each young person. We start gently and cover the basics and then each week we build on the previous weeks sessions to extend and stretch the young person’s comfort zone!
The details
Grow runs for 5 weeks. The sessions run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons 1pm-3.30pm.
The sessions are a mixture of group coaching, 1:1s and therapeutic work experience at a community farm.
Our sessions are currently based at: Grow, 389 Manor Ln, Sheffield S2 1UL

Having a job is a great way to make new friends and build confidence
You can get help from more than one organisation at the same time. If you are debt for instance Christians Against Poverty can help, or some great cheaper meals from Foodworks maybe some help with housing ?
Mixing and matching the help you get can speed up your return to a healthier financial, employment and housing situation, or perhaps suffering from depression and in despair ? all the organisations here really will help
